How I missed posting these photos who knows but here are some great photos from this summer.
Senior portraits with a horse! This young women I first got to know when she was around 1, which made
taking these photos that much more amazing!!
And man people that do horse and people photos well make this look easy; it was not! We had a great time but this horse had no interest in listening to instructions and only had interest in eating grass.

The Common Ground Fair for Lancaster farming

A couple weekends ago we got to go to the MOFGA Common Ground Fair in Unity MAine. I love this fair! The first time I went I was in 8th grade and it blew my world! Still fun and a whole new ball game with a toddler. Here are some photos that I took the first 2 were just for me and the rest for Lancaster Farming. I was so excited to find my MAine Chai wallah! I always love seeing the veggies on display inspiration for next years garden. I thought the guy separating seeds was so expressive with his hands. And we all love seeing all the animals, especially the baby.

More school photos yesterday. Ok, so school photos are mostly really fun!! Kind of a little like speed dating, but not at all! :) Speed connect take photos and on to next child... So there were a bunch of real characters in this bunch! I should see if I could put out takes on here?
I can not believe that some other providers of school photos take only one or two photo I am lucky if I can take only 5. It is just to easy to take lots of photos :) And I can't imagine charging someone for a photo where they are blinking, etc.
I would not mind adding some more local small schools for next year, just a shout out!

Sneak peek at Heather & Chance's wedding in August. This was at the Deerhill Inn. This was a weekend long event with close friends and family, everyone was so friendly and everyone had a lovely time.
Heather and Chance were super sweet and happy to be getting married in Vermont with family and friends surrounding them!
Thanks for including me! Oh and this wedding was so right up my alley!!! Homemade raspberry jam gifts, a soundtrack I loved, cool place, etc...

Here are some photos of Emily and Amy's Wedding at the Deerhill Inn in August. These women were so fun, I had a blast photographing their two women wedding! And it was fun seeing them enjoy Vermont coming from dry parts of the west. I photoed their ceremony then we just went exploring around the Inn and the neighbor property, frog ponds and all. Congratulations!!

Last weekend I was out at Lilac Ridge Farm, one of my favorite local farms, to photograph all the grandkids that were back on the farm to visit. So FUN! We had a great time! This is the third time photographing this family in some form and it is so much more FUN when you get to know a family a little! And nothing like some farm props to add to great photos.

Happy Spring everyone! I hope it is more spring like where you are! Here we have many feet of snow on the ground and expecting more tonight and tomorrow! April fools on us :) One big sign of spring, we did have a Black bear in the neighborhood snacking on many bird feeders. Oops should of taken the feeders down last week when we thought of it!

I have been meaning to add these photos since June! Time does fly. But today is a perfect time, the baby is napping and it is freezing raining out!!! Lovely!
This was a lovely wedding despite rain. It was a bright foggy rainy day on a beautiful New Hampshire hilltop. The grass and trees were this amazing bright green! It stopped raining enough after the ceremony for some outside portraits. And then the reception was in Keene.

Happy 2011 everyone!!! Wow I guess I have been on hiatus from my blog.

But do you ever feel that your work is growing and changing even
when you take a brake from it, I do? I have an almost
11 month old baby, that went fast! And other then
working this summer, I have done very little of my own photo work.

Now I have lots of portrait work to share from the last year
and more and also am mulling how to re create my life or more
How my life is being re-created!?! And how do I fit this blog
to that change?

The lighting on this day was a real challenge! Extreme shadows due to super bright sun but I think they turned out great! Thanks to this lovely family for letting me share these! This was a world wind photo shoot with one large family and 4-5 smaller immediate families but for now I will just share these.

What is a Heifer? A Heifer is a cow(female) from the time they

are born till they have a calf of their own. The Strolling is a

Celebration of Farming and local life, in the best way.

of Robb and I, as well as the ones of my family are so honest.

I just had so much fun looking through the photos that you put up so far. The ones with kids in them may be my favorite because they are so uninhibited and because I know they will change so fast and I love how much you captured this part of their life. I also love the getting ready ones in my skivvies and appreciate you making them private. I was just about to do that when I realized that you already did. The other really sweet ones are of Robb with his cousin putting his tie on for him while he holds a beer. Very Robb. Can't wait to see all the others.

These are some of the photos that will be in the Amy's Bakery Arts Cafe show in April. Most of these photos were taken in 2002.

The show in April consists of photos from "Strings"(2002), "Young Families"(1997-98) and other photos of children.

"Young Families" project which were taken in 1997-98 as part of my thesis at Marlboro College. The photos were taken in Windham County Vermont and I was focused on the everyday details of family life.

With the "Strings Project" I was looking at the strings that tie mother and child, that link family members in general. These ties bind & nourish or can choke.
